Day 179.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

So, yesterday, after 178 days, I actually forgot to do a 365, I'm kind of devastated. But here are two images from today to make up for it. I think I was too tired from Glastonbury to completely bother yesterday, I hope it won't happen again.
Moon and I met up with Jason and Michelle this evening, they're a really nice couple to hang around with, it's a pity that they're in Nottingham most of the time now. We then met up with Aaron who appears to hang around with actual kids and the resulting event is probably my worst experience this summer so far, I am not 16-17 anymore and I'm glad I can hang out in pubs rather than with a few tins on a hill. We were meant to watch the sunset but you couldn't even see it, at all.
Once that was over and done with we went to where Mark works and it turns out there's a really tame fox that hangs around, as much as I love foxes, this one was rank, was really thin and looked like it had some kind of disease.
So, I guess the old friends that I hardly speak to anymore are doing fine, they seem to be both staying the same and growing older at the same time.

Day 172, 173, 174, 175, 176, 177.

GLASTONBURY!
First day at the top, most recent at the bottom - which I realise is a different order to how the blog usually goes.
You don't know how far away the cars are from the festival until you get there not to mention that you can't even see the festival on the way in.

This is the 'Hollywood sign', forgot that I walked around at night on this day because the rest of the festival was so knackering but, I did get to see Shangri-La on my last night.

One of these also read that they provided, "No bullshit, the best chocolate milkshake on site", can you guess what it is yet? Toilets weren't too bad until Sunday, I guess thanks to these guys. I saw Mumford and Sons this day, who not only put on a great performance but also seemed really touched by the reaction of the crowd, made me so pleased for them.

After saying that we'd make the important trip to Shangri-La and Arcadia, we decided we should just go back to the tent and make a fire and have marshmallows instead. Moon was so sulky that he didn't get to do the fire that he fell asleep, I'm guessing he was probably exhausted too but I'm sticking with sulky.

Usually, as the higher bands on the bill performed, people climbed the 'Star of David' to get a better view, we saw one guy cut his leg all the way up, this is for Faithless, who were alright but not as amazing as Stevie Wonder, who followed.

Saw this little guy as we were leaving the festival, it took us around 8-9 hours to get home from campsite to the door. I love this photo and I love that nothing of mine was nicked or broken, I did lose my hairbrush though.

What a blast that was. I can't even describe how huge, how amazing and how surreal it is, and don't even get me started on the walking, the suntan and the dust. Know what you're getting yourself in for and bring a trolley.

Day 171.

I went to Chessington 'World of Adventures' today, now I'm going to Glastonbury, k bye.

Day 170.

Today Moon helped me finish packing up my Glastonbury stuff, as I was having a mini-mental-breakdown over it, and we had a 'trial-run' of the new tent, it is so huge and roomy, I can't wait for it to be my home for 5ish days. I also had a mega play with my 35mm lens, which I haven't really done properly yet, and I took some nice photographs of my cat and other things in the garden. Hopefully I will get the opportunity to do a final post tomorrow before I head off to my first huge festival, with mud and danger.

Day 169.

Glastonbury is a few days away, I have come down to my Grans' to brace myself.

Day 168.

Mmmmm, what another dull day it has been. I don't really like being on my own all day, but when there are people around, I kind of like the option.

Day 167.

I was so bored today, I'm excited for 5 days time, I have to pack half my stuff tomorrow.

Day 166.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

Today has gone by pretty quickly, I don't know where it's gone, unusual for the summer holidays.
My sister finished her GCSE exams today so we went out for dinner to celebrate a little, we'll be celebrating again when my Mum's not working on Sunday. But Lucy was desperate to show me how The Glasshouse rolled, pretty pricey but nice enough as it happens.

Day 165.

Today I picked up what I think is the last few things for Glastonbury - I haven't completely worked out how I'm going to keep up the 365 while I'm there, I guess just pick and choose when I get back - and then I helped out my Gran with cutting her hedge, I think I killed a lot of snails...

Day 164.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

I wish we had the DewMocracy over here, I tried some of this new Mountain Dew:Energy yesterday, it is a bit sweeter than the US version but essentially the same. I just wish they'd done it properly. The bottle is horrible, and the liquid make it all look like a novelty highlighter pen, tasty yes, attractive no.
I have finally unpacked myself and got myself an unpaid job photographing the Malden Fortnight, looking forward to it.

Day 163.

This building has been built since the last time I went to Kingston, it was quite a surprise, but I don't think anyone has to live there so it's ok, it is pretty ugly though.

Day 162.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

Today has been a bit of a rush.
I have moved away from Portsmouth for the term and for the summer, after only a couple of hours at home, I was off to my cousin Kimberly's engagement party at my uncle's posh house, turns out Kim is very, good at making cakes - and she's plugging it and networking like mad, I think she may have found her vocation. It was an alright afternoon, I kind of wish I'd dressed a bit sunnier, but never mind. This is one of the cakes she made, that isn't icing, it is some kind of chocolate mousse.

Day 161.

I found myself getting a little bit into the football this afternoon/evening, World Cup fever gets everyone at some point I suppose.

Day 160.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

I thought at the time that the carpet at The Deco was the same as the carpet that we have at our house...
Oh.
There is a distinct similarity though.

Day 159.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

So it rained really heavily today, this is a picture I took on Photobooth for my proper blog of me holding the catalogue for the Photography degree show that I went to see yesterday. I wish it had been a nicer day. I kind of wish I didn't have to bother with packing tomorrow.
I don't know why my lips are so shiny in this...

Wednesday 9 June 2010

Day 158.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

Moon and I went to see the Photography graduate show this afternoon, some stiff competition, I hope by the time my final show comes around that I will be good enough and do better than I felt I did for the last exhibition, even for the Portsmouth leg - they get to go up to London as well.
After that, we went to the Portsmouth City Museum (and Records Office), wasn't as bad as Portsmouth's poor excuse for a Natural History Museum, but it wasn't brilliant, although I'm sure if I was really interested in Arthur Conan Doyle and Portsmouth FC it would be great, they also have a very worn out exhibit looking at Southsea in it's 'hey day' which could have been a lot better.I can't believe how many times I must have passed it without realising. It was an enjoyable hour or so, and they have lots of old slot games that are pretty weird.

Tuesday 8 June 2010

Day 157.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

My bed is gone, it wasn't as much hassle as I thought it would be, probably because I didn't have to do much and Moon did most of it.
My room now looks incredibly bare, I can't believe I'm moving out in a few days and that I have to pack up my life once again. Even without my bed, my room is still quite awesome, now I have so much space, for jumping and dancing...

Monday 7 June 2010

Day 156.

© Ruth Johnston 2010

Today was another day that was for a long walk.
We went to say goodbye to Long and hardly did anything for the rest of the day after that. The weather was really weird.
I am packing up some stuff tonight, as well as my bed, I will be sad not to have it for the next few days as well as the next few months. More the next few days though, as I have to sleep on Alan's bed in Moon's room, boo!
I liked these beds, I guess we must get that I like beds by now.

Sunday 6 June 2010

Day 155.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

So I took these photos and came up with this idea. I quite like it and think it's worthy of a creative 365 image.
I've finally found a use for this mask after all this time, I want to buy a few more and use them in some kind of huge photo shoot, the other one I got snapped...

Saturday 5 June 2010

Day 154.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

My sister is down for the night as Moon is away getting his Rage Against The Machine tickets at home. In any case his exams are over so it wouldn't have mattered. I treated her to a tasty lunch at Giraffe. I finally ordered a dish I had seen irl, but not on the menu, it was as good as anticipated, but a bit filling. We've had an alright day, I'm knackered now though, what with all the walking I've done in the past few days. I think I will have a well deserved sleep later.

Friday 4 June 2010

Day 153.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

I've spent the last three days doing so much walking to and from The Common.
Played a round of golf this afternoon, took quite a long time and it wasn't like there was much of a competition, considering it was just Moon, Long and I, let's just say I'm not the greatest golfer. It's so hot, I love it.

Thursday 3 June 2010

Day 152.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

I wanted to take something different from what I took yesterday as I did essentially the same thing. This is a last minute Photobooth, but I did think about it a bit. I'm hating my hair a bit at the moment, it is neither long enough or short enough.
My widowdom ends tomorrow.

Day 151.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

Another day of Moon's revision down on Southsea Common, this time with just the two of us, I kept schtum while he read over notes, we had some nice conversations over lunch. I've managed to get a bit sunburnt some how, I also took my first paddle in the sea this afternoon. It was nice to get out of the house after a couple of grim, boring, drizzly days.

Tuesday 1 June 2010

Day 150.

© Ruth Johnston 2010.

I have done nothing today, again, the weather was horrible so I decided against it.
Despite basically sitting on my arse all day, I don't think it's unreasonable to have a superiority complex over whoever typed 'magazines' wrong. I'm in a grammar/spelling nazi kind of mood, I really want it to brighten up soon, I can't wait to be not so bored. I am chewing my fingers off.
